Trek

The 50km trek gets you out walking in some of the finest landmarks and countryside the garden of England has to offer. Starting from Fort Amherst, Britain's biggest Napoleonic Fort, to the Norman Cathedral and Castle in Rochester, follow the winding River Medway on the Medway Valley Walk, you'll soon be at the top of the North Downs with spectacular views over the southern part of the county. Strolling down around Blue Bell Hill and the mystic Kit's Coty before dropping down to cross the A249 at historic Detling before a final incline up to the top of the White Horse Wood Country Park half way point. After a short break you will show what you are made of as you take in the breath-taking views over the North Downs round the remains of Thurnham Castle, walking the same route as so many before you on the world-famous Pilgrim's Way. Descending down into the medieval village of Lenham for a final rest stop before climbing back up onto the Pilgrim's Way through to the lovely village of Charing. From there it's a few short kilometres to the picturesque grounds of Eastwell Manor where you will cross the finish line and earn your finisher's medal. You will have the opportunity to put your feet up and revel in the knowledge that not only have you achieved something but that you have raised hard needed funds for your chosen charity and Kent Search and Rescue thereby helping more people in their hour of need.
